I had my own apartment on the ground floor, with bedroom, bathroom, dining area (where I also worked), and kitchen. The whole place is beautifully decorated, with great style and charm. Ignatius the host is very welcoming, a real gentlemen, happy to share stories of his life and work in Europe and travels around the world. Impeccably clean, pleasant and comfortable, with well thought-out, European-inspired design. It’s more like an Airbnb than a typical hotel, and Ignatius is the most welcoming host you’re likely to find. If you’re not sure what you want to do while you’re in Sri Lanka, Ignatius can advise you on cities, hotels, and even specific restaurants; he’s a wealth of knowledge and a rare soul. Even in 5 stars hotels, there was always something wrong. But here, at IGN residence, it was absolutely perfect with nothing to complain about. All my congratulations to Mr. Joseph. House is big, bed are comfortable, close to everything and an owner always so helpful. And when I come back to Colombo, for sure I will come back here. Last tip to everyone: In case you booked guide/trip/driver... from Europe. I really recommend you all to ask first to Ignatious if prices are reasonable and trip well organised.
